KINLAB Builds at the Intersection of Fashion, Design and Technology
KINLAB is a creative and product studio working where garment design, industrial design and software increasingly overlap.

Fashion has become a technology discipline whether or not it uses the word. Pattern-making is software. Materials are engineering. Fit is data. KINLAB, part of the KinLabs group within Nova Capital Holdings, is building a studio practice around that reality.
One studio, three disciplines
The studio combines garment and textile work, physical product and object design, and the digital tooling that connects them — 3D pattern development, digital sampling, parametric form studies and colour management across screen and cloth.
The practical benefit is speed with less waste. Fewer physical samples. Faster iteration. Decisions made with better information before anything is cut.
The interesting work is no longer in the sketch. It is in the system that turns a sketch into something real.
Identity as a design input
KINLAB's cultural position is that African identity belongs in the construction of an object, not only on its surface. That shows up in silhouette, in the logic of how a garment is assembled, in the choice of material and in the object's intended life span.
Craft and machine
The studio is explicit that digital tooling is there to extend craft, not replace it. Hand skills — draping, finishing, joinery, hand-set detail — remain the standard against which machine output is judged.
Serving the group
KINLAB also functions as a design capability for other companies in the portfolio, supporting brand, packaging, product and environment work where a shared standard of craft matters.
The longer aim is a studio whose work is exported: African design thinking applied to products made and sold anywhere.
