A holding company's brand problem is the opposite of a single company's. The risk is not inconsistency; it is homogeneity — a group that stamps one visual system across everything it owns and slowly makes each business less specific, less credible and less loved than it was.

Nova Capital Holdings operates in fashion, technology, sport, property, media, education and consumer products. A streetwear customer, a school procurement officer, a dental practice principal and a homebuyer have nothing in common. Forcing one identity across them would weaken all of them.

A standard, not a template

What is held in common is a standard rather than a style. Typographic discipline: few faces, used properly, set with care. Honest photography — real product, real premises, real people, no borrowed imagery standing in for work that has not been done. Restraint in colour, so that a palette means something when it is used. And copy that does not overclaim, because every unverifiable claim a portfolio company makes is a liability the group eventually carries.

Within that standard, each company is free to look entirely unlike its siblings, and generally should.

Consistency of quality, not consistency of appearance.

Where the group is visible

Group identity appears in ownership contexts: governance documents, reporting, recruitment, partnership conversations and this editorial platform. It is not stamped onto consumer products. A customer buying a garment or a family choosing a home is not making a decision about a holding company, and telling them who owns the business adds nothing to the thing they are buying.

The exception is where ownership is genuinely relevant — hiring, institutional partnerships, and anywhere a counterparty is entitled to know the balance sheet behind a commitment.

Shared capability

The practical value the group adds is capability rather than conformity. Brand strategy, identity design, photography direction, copy standards and web build are available internally, which lets an early company access a level of craft it could not yet afford to hire. A young business gets a properly drawn mark, a usable type system and a site that works, instead of spending its first year looking provisional.

What is enforced

Very little, and deliberately so: legal and ownership disclosure where required, accuracy in public claims, accessibility basics, and the quality bar. Everything else — tone, palette, photography style, naming — belongs to the company and to the people who have to sell it.
